Content

This unit will provide students with methods and approaches to developing fiction ideas from script to screen. Students will collaborate in teams to write and produce a short fiction film using digital cinema technologies. Through this production, students will be required to review and analyse their working methods and production, to make judgements about the feedback they receive and to develop appropriate responses.

The unit will cover topics such as teamwork, collaborative idea development, story structure and script writing as well as the processes and practices of production and production management. It will require students to demonstrate understandings of film language to locate filmic form and structure within the discourses of genre, style, aesthetic and production practices.
