Content
This unit introduces students to the principles and techniques of acting and directing for screen productions, including focus on the relationship between actors and directors. Screenings and close analysis of acting and directing examples will help to establish the narrative, formal and stylistic criteria that will be applied to practical exercises and tasks that explore a variety of creative methods. The unit is designed to give students a practical understanding and overview of techniques and tools required to act in or direct across different types of screen-based works such as film and television drama, whether on location or within virtual production and studio environments.
