Students will on average spend 150-hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

Content

This unit aims to provide insight into the legal rights and risks of professional communicators in media practice. The unit will focus in particular on legal issues such as defamation, copyright, privacy, Contempt of Court, media freedom, and ethics. Globally relevant comparisons will be made with the Australian setting.
