Overview

Public relations practitioners are 21st century communication specialists who manage and coordinate relationships among organisations, agencies and the public. With a focus on ethical and sustainable communication practices, the course builds key knowledge and skills in core public relations responsibilities such as: event management and campaigns; social media tactics and media relations; strategic planning, management and communication. Final-year students can develop their skills further by undertaking an industry internship, working with real clients to develop a public relations campaign. The degree’s structure also allows you to pursue study in areas such as journalism, media studies, visual communication design and marketing. This flexibility means our degree combines theory and real-life practice to prepare you for employment in a wide variety of public relations, media and communications roles.
