Bachelor of International Studies – for building your global career
Deakin's Bachelor of International Studies is ideal if you’re interested in different cultures, languages and perspectives outside of your own. First-hand experiences in other countries and cultures let you develop the practical and soft skills required to pursue a global career.
You'll need at least two credit points in international experience, which includes exciting options such as university exchanges, in-country language programs, international internships, study tours, and a choice of languages to major in.
This is a specialist course, so one of your majors needs to be chosen from a select list:

You'll also choose a second major from a diverse offering of Bachelor of Arts majors from philosophy to sport journalism.

Bachelor of International Studies (Global Scholar) – for an extra challenge
If you want to challenge yourself academically, as well as study and travel, consider the Bachelor of International Studies (Global Scholar).
The key differences between the Bachelor of International Studies and the Bachelor of International Studies (Global Scholar) is that you undertake more international experiences (at least four credit points rather than two) including an international internship. You are also required to maintain a distinction average.
As part of this degree, you'll take part in the Global Citizenship Program which includes options for international volunteering, internships, seminars, foreign language courses and peer mentoring.
Graduating from this course prepares you with the analytical skills and international experience to apply your knowledge to a range of roles. Build your career in Australia or overseas working in roles including: foreign correspondent, human rights advocate, immigration agent and more.

Bachelor of Arts – for diverse opportunities

This course is fantastic if you have a broad range of interests – you get to pick two or three study areas from a long list. The outcomes for your career can be shaped by the study areas you choose.
