Alumni news
Welcome to this September edition of the dKin Times.
On our side of the world, spring is finally here bringing with it some promise of warmer weather and longer days. The arrival of spring always signals hope and new beginnings and this can also be true for our working lives.
Spring is a great time of year to kick start your career. And just to help you along, Deakin is giving away two free credentials to Deakin Alumni.
The credentials recognise the skills and experience you already have and are industry-relevant and globally recognised. The process is entirely online and some of the credentials lead to credit towards a Deakin postgraduate degree. Well worth a look, and don’t forget you are also eligible for a 15% alumni postgraduate bursary.*
I’ve often talked about the value of keeping up links with alumni colleagues. I’d like to congratulate the class of 1954 at Burwood Teachers College who recently held their final reunion. The College began in 1954, becoming part of the State College of Victoria in 1976, Victoria College in 1981 and Deakin in 1992. What a potent reminder of the strength of the alumni bond, sixty-four years is a quite remarkable achievement. Bravo!
It is also worth reminding our recent graduates that they will soon receive their copy of the Graduate Outcomes Survey (GOS). The GOS is a national survey sent to all students who recently completed their degree and is an Australian government initiative. I do encourage you to complete it; your feedback is important as we use it to improve the experience of our current and future students.
Enjoy this month’s DKin… and do keep in touch with us. Enjoy the sunshine wherever you are.
