University offers: Deakin's top 10 most popular courses for 2025

Exercise and Sport Science was the University's most popular course among high school graduates, with Deakin home to the best sports science school in the world as named for the sixth time by the ShanghaiRankings Global Ranking in 2024.

Nursing and Commerce were next on the wish lists of those hoping to undertake tertiary studies at Deakin, followed by Arts and Criminology.

Business, Science, Psychology, Biomedical Science and Law rounded out the University's top 10 most popular courses for 2025.

Deakin Distinguished Professor Liz Johnson, Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, congratulated those who today received a first-round offer.

Professor Johnson said university offers was an exciting time for school leavers as they looked to take the next step in their education journeys.

Further offers will be made in January and February, and those who do not receive their first preference in today's offer round can find advice on next steps via Deakin's website.

'As the number one Victorian university for graduate employment, teaching quality and student support, we look forward to welcoming a new cohort of students next year,' Professor Johnson said.

'Our world-class teaching and research ranks Deakin in the top 200 universities globally, and we pride ourselves on fostering the skills of job-ready graduates with the knowledge and confidence to be successful in their chosen careers.

'There are several ways into your dream course at Deakin if you do not receive a VTAC offer for the course you were hoping to get into. One option is you could complete a bridging course at Deakin, or diplomas are another common pathway.'

Deakin is a regional educator with a proven track record of making higher education accessible to those living outside metropolitan cities.

More than 2000 of the University's December round offers were made to those hoping to study at one of Deakin's three regional Victorian campuses in Geelong and Warrnambool.
