Deakin University applauds Australia Day 2025 Honours List appointees

Deakin University staff, former staff, students, alumni and supporters have been recognised for their commitment to excellence and contribution to their communities in the 2025 Australian Day Honours list.

Included in the list is the late Emeritus Professor Joseph Graffam AM, honoured as a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to tertiary education and to social welfare organisations.

Professor Graffam was Deakin’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research in 2018, Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research from 2017 to 2018, and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Development and Training) from 2011 to 2016. He was appointed as an Emeritus Professor in 2019.
