Institute for Mental and Physical Health and Clinical Translation

IMPACT develops new and effective responses to mental and physical health for our community. Its more than 300 researchers use innovative approaches to translate medical research from the laboratory to real-world solutions.

We work with many local health services and government to translate our high-quality world-class research into outcomes that are relevant and meaningful to our communities. Some of our partnerships include:

• Centre for Organisational Change in Person-Centred Healthcare – provides education and training, uses translational research to influence change in policy and the culture of healthcare systems.
• Bioinformatics Core Research Group – provides expertise in experimental design, next generation sequencing design and analysis and gene expression studies.
• Western Alliance Academic Health Science Centre – a partnership between Deakin University, Federation University and 11 health service providers operating across the western region of Victoria.
• Centre for Rural Emergency Medicine – provides training in emergency medicine for students and health professionals working in rural and regional locations.
• National Centre for Farmer Health – provides research to reduce disease and injury among farmers, agricultural workers and their families.

We partner with healthcare providers, industry, government and community groups with the aim to facilitate collaborative engagement, including education and training.
